The trial of a man charged with the murder of 22-year-old Chozyn Koroheke in April has begun in the High Court in Auckland.
Turiarangi Tai entered a plea of not guilty in front of Justice Muir this morning.
Mr Tai has pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing a firearm.
Another person, who has name suppression, pleaded not guilty to being an accessory after the fact.
Chozyn Koroheke was shot dead at her home in Pakuranga on 4 April last year.
Police began a search for Turiarangi Tai and he later handed himself in.
The trial is set down for four weeks.
The opening addresses will start today.
