The two-day-old baby boy who went missing from Middlemore Hospital yesterday has been located overnight safe and well.

He was found at a Royal Oak address.

Police said yesterday the infant was likely to be with his mother, Dorothy Opetaia, in South Auckland.

Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Hassall said delaying medical attention could make him seriously ill.

Police said they would like to thank the public for their concern and assistance.
